ABOUT
We are not looking for people who are passionate about sustainability. We are looking for people who are precise about it. The difference matters — to our clients, to our methodology, and to the quality of what we build together.
The regulatory environment is accelerating. The standards are tightening. The organizations we work with need advisors who know the frameworks in depth — not in outline.
If that describes how you approach this field, we would like to hear from you.
The standards we build for our clients begin with the standards we hold ourselves to as an organization. Our workforce data and B Corp certification are not talking points — they are operating commitments.

Raise the Bar, Together
We build high-performing teams and we hold each other to that standard. Excellence is not a threshold to reach and forget — it is a direction of travel. We help each other rise to it, and we expect everyone to contribute to that environment.
Step Up and Own It
We take initiative and lead from wherever we are. When something needs doing, we do it — without waiting to be asked. Ownership means following outcomes through to completion, not just completing tasks.
Confident, Not Complacent
We have earned our position in this field and we act accordingly — with composure, not arrogance. We keep our commitments, push back professionally when needed, and maintain the quality of our work under pressure. Reputation is built in the difficult moments.
Results Over Ego
Impact matters more than appearances. Knowledge is shared openly, credit is given honestly, and growth is a daily practice. We do not compete with teammates — we compete with our potential.
Iterate to Win
We learn by doing — and sometimes by getting things wrong. Feedback is directional, not personal. We act on it, refine our approach, and finish what we start. Insight without action is not progress.
Every role at Semtrio — regardless of function or seniority — is evaluated against the same eight capabilities. These are not soft skills listed for completeness. They are the attributes that determine whether someone can operate effectively in a complex, fast-moving, technically demanding environment. Our hiring framework is aligned with the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs research, which identifies these as the defining competencies for high-performance knowledge work. We apply them consistently because the quality of the team is what protects the quality of the work.
Analytical Thinking
The ability to break complex problems into their components, identify patterns, and draw sound conclusions from data and evidence.
Systems Thinking
The ability to see how parts connect — across frameworks, organizations, and workstreams — and to anticipate second-order effects.
Creative Thinking
Finding workable solutions where precedent does not exist, and bringing fresh structure to problems that have resisted it.
Technological Literacy
Comfort with data tools, ESG platforms, and the digital infrastructure that modern advisory delivery depends on. Not expertise in all tools — the capacity to learn them.
Dependability & Attention to Detail
Doing what you say you will do, at the quality level the work demands. In this field, errors have regulatory consequences.
Resilience, Flexibility and Agility
The ability to adapt quickly as frameworks evolve, client situations shift, and delivery timelines compress. Regulatory environments do not pause.
Motivation and Self-Awareness
Knowing why you are doing this work, and understanding your own strengths and gaps clearly enough to act on both.
Empathy and Active Listening
Client relationships in this field depend on understanding what organizations are actually navigating — not just what they ask for. Listening is a professional skill here, not a courtesy.
Beyond these eight, each role carries its own technical specification — framework knowledge, domain expertise, and seniority-level expectations. Those are listed in individual job descriptions.
The work at Semtrio is specialist by design.
You will develop deep expertise across the frameworks that define the field — CDP, EcoVadis, GRI, SBTi, IFRS S2, CBAM, PCAF, and others. You will work with enterprise clients across manufacturing, finance, energy, aviation, and holding company structures. The outputs you produce will go in front of boards, investors, regulators, and international rating agencies.
The pace is high and the standards are exacting. We do not produce reports to fill a brief. We produce outputs that clients stake their regulatory standing on.
We are a growing firm at an inflection point in a fast-moving market.
That creates genuine career development — not through a formal programme, but through the volume, variety, and complexity of the work itself. Exposure at this firm builds capability faster than most environments in this field.
Our values are not aspirational statements. Results Over Ego means knowledge is shared, not hoarded. Iterate to Win means feedback is acted on. Step Up and Own It means you will be given real responsibility, from early in your time here.
Whether you are applying for an open role or making a speculative enquiry, use this form to introduce yourself. Tell us what you do, what you are looking for, and why Semtrio. We review every submission personally.
