Borçelik — IFRS S2 Climate Risk Disclosure

Borçelik is Turkey's first private and second-largest flat steel producer, a joint venture between Borusan Holding and ArcelorMittal formed to serve the country's automotive, white goods, and construction sectors from its integrated cold-rolling and galvanizing complex in Gemlik, on the Bursa coast. With three cold-rolling and three hot-dip galvanizing lines and roughly 1.5 million tons of annual production, Borçelik holds the largest galvanized flat steel position in Turkey. The company has built a sustainability track record to match its production scale: Borçelik's Gemlik site became the first steel site in Turkey certified to the ResponsibleSteel International Standard, and the company has set a net-zero target for 2050. As a European steel joint venture with export exposure to EU markets now subject to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, Borçelik has treated credible, standards-based climate disclosure as core to its market position, not a compliance afterthought.
