CDP Advisory · Finance & Banking

One of Türkiye's largest banks strengthened a CDP disclosure history dating to 2009 with a question-level data architecture, reaching a triple 'A' rating.

Project Summary

Garanti BBVA is one of Türkiye's largest banks and part of Spain's BBVA Group, whose sustainability strategy sets group-wide climate ambitions across all subsidiaries. The bank has disclosed to CDP's Climate Change Program since 2009, one of the longest continuous disclosure histories among Turkish financial institutions, and has been recognized on CDP's Climate Change A List in multiple recent cycles. Garanti BBVA has also set a public objective, under its Sustainability Policy and in line with the Paris Agreement and BBVA Group's climate finance strategy, to decarbonize its loan portfolio by 2050, and has scaled its cumulative sustainable finance provision toward a multi-year, multi-trillion-lira target.
